This is my favorite picture. It is the sunrise afer the new year in Brazil. More specifically in Ipanema a beach of "Rio de Janeiro". I traveled to Brazil on december 20, 2017 with my friend Marcela. We visited many places and met a lot of people in our journey. I took with me $ 500,000 clp that were exchanged into real (or reais, in portugese). I worked so hard for this, while i was studying. Probably i missed all the partys in 2016 haha, but, in the end it was the most fantastic experience in my life. I visited different places in my stay, such as Sao Paulo, Buzios and Arraial do cabo. Brazilian culture is so different from chilean culture. People in the beach are easygoing and friendly, we love it. The weather is hot and humid even at night, we were sweating all the time, wearing flip flops and drinking water, juice, beer and drinks. My passion in this life is draw and the music. I love draw since i was a little girl. I like to copy things that i see every day and mix colors to create a new thing. i've spent a lot of time learning about drawing, and today i spend most of my life doing this. but, the new passion that i met is the music. I discovered i love dancing to the rhythm of the music. I am part of a percussion group called batucada Sonido de Lucha, since 2016. In the batucada we play different kinds of drums. When I arrived at the group I learnt how to play the "repique". Then I changed my drum to a "tercera". The batucada is 6 years old now. We organized our first carnival last year in May. This year we had another carnival to celebrate our 6th aniversary. There were many batucadas and bands in the pasacalles, playing their music in front of the neightbours from Cerrillos. My favourite gadget is my cellphone. I got it 3 months ago after my last phone was stolen. I use it everyday for everything. I text my friends and family and use the camera to take pictures of everything, I call my boyfriend and use the apps for social media. I like it because i can do things from my cellphone like ordering food or paying a bill or writing to someone who is far away from me. Life wouldn't be the same without it but it wouldn't be so bad, sometimes I get addicted to the phone and living without it would not bother me so much. I think people are so addicted to their phones that they miss what is happening in the real world, outside of social media, on the streets or in their houses, it's better to spend time with the loved ones than in front of a screen all de time, that is my opinion.

When I walk on the streets, what call my attention are the walls. I really like to find hidden messages in the city. You can read very interesting and funny things, You can also find a lot of art. As poems, or posters, graffiti or murals. It's nice think that someone with a lot of talent lives in the same city and he did this for you to appreciate and value it,  the most entertaining thing. .. it's free. some thing are relly good, and you think, who make that? in some cases the artist firm his work and you can find the person in facebook or instagram, and you can follow his work. But in other cases, you know nothing about the artist. and it's like what! i want know more, how do you make that? where i can find more of you? you are really good! but you just have to settle for finding more works through the streets of Santiago. Another thing i like is read writings, in the bus even on the walls on the bathroom. some times i think  wow! this person really thinks like me :o...

When i was a child i wanted to be veterinarian, i dreamed of having pig, or cows, or any animal i could care. I'm always have many animals in my home, dogs, rats or chickens. I always drawed myself in a  farm sorrounded of animals. But, one day i adopted a cat and i descovered i'm so alergic. That day i'm deside don't be veterinarian because i imagined myself looked a cat and sneeze constantly on the cat. when i'm finished the school i decided to be architect but isn't the cereer of my dreams, i choose that because i like drawing and make handmade things, but i know architecture is not just that. So in the same time i  postulated to desing, Honestly i wasn't sure if i understand the careera at all, But Design had everything i was looking in the beginning. finally i was acepted in achitecture but in valparaiso, also i was acepted in design too, but in Santiago. Hi guys, I think i have to introduce my self.  My name is Josefa Birkelbach, I'm a Chilean trying to learning English. I was born in Santiago of Chile.
